I'm a big guy with big feet. In particular, I've always had to buy the widest shoes I could find, partly to accommodate the height of my foot. Usually, when I try shoes like these, they're really tight on top and dig into the top of my foot. So, when I first pulled these out of the package and looked at them, I didn't have high hopes. That said, I was pleasantly surprised. These shoes are very stretchy, and I really don't see why anyone would ever need to lace them up. When I tried them on, they easily stretched comfortably to fit my foot like a glove (literally). The fabric breathes really well, so they're comfortable, but I wouldn't go outside in cold weather with them. I'm also sure they're not going to be waterproof, though I'll admit I didn't test them for that. The laces are really too long for these shoes. I measured the laces at 48", and honestly, I think 36" would probably be just about right. When I first tried tying the laces, they hung down to the floor on both sides of the shoe and came untied after walking around a bit. As i was looking at them to see if I could take up the slack somehow, I realized that the top of the shoe does not have flaps like a normal lace shoe, and if I removed the laces completely, the shoe basically looks more like a loafer. So, that's what I did.I really like the look of the shoes better without the laces at all. I've attached photos of them with and without laces. I've been mostly wearing them for the past week indoors (as it's getting down to freezing outside here) and they don't feel loose at all.I'm sure these won't last me nearly as long as my much more expensive leather dress shoes, but I can buy 6 pairs of these for the same money I spent on the others. So, in my opinion, for the price range these fall into, I think they're a really nice shoe, and as I'll be moving to Florida in the coming months, I may well purchase a few more pairs of these.
